What is Student STAR?

The Dell EMC Student STAR Program is a 4 Day intensive workshop, designed to equip students with the tools needed to excel in both their academic and professional journeys. The four key areas central to every student’s success are Communication, Teamwork, Life Skills and Business Acumen. As a bridge between higher education and Dell EMC, Student STAR will broaden the horizons of local college bound students at no cost to attendees!

Who can participate?

Any student entering their junior or senior year of high school or freshman year of college. This is not limited to immediate family members of EMC employees – feel free to consider your nieces, nephews, children of friends, neighbors, etc. as long as they meet the applicant criteria mentioned above.

What topics will be covered?

Student STAR covers a broad array of topics to satisfy the four key areas of STAR.  From business-focused topics like Engineering and Marketing, to sessions such as Personal Finance or Transition to College, students are provided with key tools that they’ll be able to apply now and in the future. Presentations equip students with a set of cross-functional interpersonal skills applicable to all areas of life. Lastly, academic-focused presentations such as The College Application Process  or The Princeton Review’s SAT Overview rounds out the program to provide students with a complex skill set that truly encompasses the academic, business, and life skill benefits.
